Sorry for the lack of blogging/tweeting etc lately, but I've been on holiday! Me and my Mum spent 5 days in the lovely city of Edinburgh, and here's a little summary of all the fun things we did!
We arrived in Edinburgh late on Monday, and got to meet our group and travel guide. I quickly realized that I was the youngest in the group, they all were 50 ++ ! We headed off to the hotel, and after a little evening walk we were tired and went to bed.
The very next day we did some serious shopping! The other ones in our group went on some guided trips etc, but me and Mum decided to go on our own and figure out for ourselves what we wanted to do. We did a lot of shopping every day, and I found new jeans, shoes and tops. I also bought two MAC eye shadows (something I've wanted for years!) and even 7 (or was it 8?) of the Collection 2000 felt tip eye liner that I absolutely love. I actually bought all the ones they had in Boots! The cashier lady laughed at me...
Here's some of the things I bought...
Cherry coke..... as always, and a grey top with lace shoulders and back piece.
Some kick ass Converse! The leopard ones are even furry.
In addition to spending a lot of money, we did some tourist-y stuff as well. We did a guided bus tour of the city, went to the Military Tattoo at the castle, attended a Scottish evening (tried haggis!) and went to the zoo to look at the pandas! I was over the moon about the pandas, and got pretty disappointed when we arrived only to find out that the panda viewing tickets were sold out for the next three days!! Our only option was to get some extra tickets the next morning if we arrived in the morning. At five to nine in the morning we were already in the queue for the zoo and got the tickets! I loved Tian Tian and Yang Guang (the pandas), so it was definitely worth it.
Yang Guang, the male panda.
Amazing sundaes from TGI Friday's.
And I even got to drool at some good looking men in kilts!!
It was a fun trip, and we got to see and do a lot in just five days. Our guide had to leave the day before us, and she gave me (!!) the responsibility of making sure all the Norwegians made it safely from our hotel in Edinburgh to the airport in Oslo. So, I got to live out my secret dream of being a travel guide. I think I did well, we all got home safely! :)
The very last thing I want to share from my trip is a little recommendation for all my rockabilly friends out there. By accident I found the sweetest little stand, and the amazing girl Hannah! She makes bow ties and hair bows, plus fascinators. I wanted to buy one hair clip, but they were just too cute and I ended up buying two. I have no photos of my clips just yet as they are somewhere in my oversized bag, but I strongly recommend you to check out her Facebook page and website for all her amazing stuff.
Look at her being all adorable! I'm so glad I stumbled upon her wee stand, and that I got to bring two of her lovely pieces home with me. Pictures to come!
With this trip being over, I've got another one coming right up. I AM GOING HOME! After 8 weeks away, I'm finally seeing my boyfriend again. I can't wait! Me going home also means that I get to open the parcel I got from Japan (yay) and going back to uni, work and the gym. It's gonna be great. Enough lazy days, back to reality.
